Sooo...What is MOOSE ATTACK ?
Moose attack is a collection of pure synth sounds for the Kurzweil PC3 series. You will find 100 patches and 35 setups, including virtual analog, FM, hybrid and sampled based sounds. Some of them are original and with some others i tried to match some well known sounds like the classic Elka Synthex laser harp, the brassy sound from Yazoo 'Don't go', etc...
- REAL TIME CONTROLS :
Most of the sounds have real time controls, so you can change 'on the fly' some parameters like filtering, enveloppe settings, modulation amounts etc...
I really would like to point out the fact that the PC3 has a cool fonction called 'set controllers', which allow you to save the position of the controlers (faders, wheels and switches values). So you can make your own patches from mines, without going into the deep VAST synthesis ! Just hit the 'edit' button, scroll to 'SetCTL', adjust to taste, hit the soft button under 'SetCTL', rename, save and voila !
You have just made a new sound....
The 'Info' pages have been filled with all what you need to know for tweaking, and some sounds have additionnal infos too...
- EFFECTS ??
All the sounds have an editable insert effect, mostly a chorus-delay-reverb. Basses and drums sounds have
a compressor. Some of the setups use a side-chain compressor to make the riff 'pumps' !
- SETUPS ??
In addition to these programs, i made 35 setups :
10 of them are 'arpeggios' setups, with a riff on the left hand, the 25 others are done with layering and split points but no arpeggios.
- IS THERE A MANUAL SOMEWHERE ?
Of course ! You have a PDF file here, optimized to be printed. You will find all what you need, the programs and setups list, the real time controls list and other useful infos.
And remember that the info page in the PC3 has been filled !!!
