'Altered Core' is a set of 56 sounds for the Korg opsix.
The programming was done in order to show a part of the potential of this great synthesizer ! Some sounds don't use FM at all. As we have a bunch of different functions to replace to classic FM, some patches are purely Virtual Analog, others use several technics in the same algorithm, etc... The arp / seq have also been extensively use on some patches to provide very complex timbres. Some make the opsix sound like a multitimbral instrument ! You will also find some classic sounds, easy to use in any tracks. Have fun ! | ||
Instructions :
To load this set in your opsix you will need the dedicated Korg librarian -> www.korg.com/fr/products/synthesizers/opsix/
Make sure your machine and the librarian are updated to the lated OS and that the librarian is correctly installed on your computer.
We recommend to read the manual of the librarian before any operation...
Always backup your own sounds before loading any third parties soundbanks !
Once you have bought the set, you will receive the programs in 2 formats :
- All 56 sounds as separate file in the Altered Core Programs directory.
You just have to load each sound in the slot of your choice in the librarian and send it to the opsix.
- You will also receive an opsix library file that contains the 56 sounds in one shot (from slot 1 to 56) in the Altered Core Full Library directory.
With that library you can use the 'merge' function of the librarian and select all 56 sounds at once and drag / drop them in the memory slots of your choice and send them to the opsix.

Playing Notes :
Some sounds, especially in the Arp / Seq and SFX / Percs categories must be played with the 'Play' function of the sequencer ON, with or without the KEY TRIG.
Other sounds use only the arpegiator, or the arpegiator in conjunction with the sequencer.
On the sequencer, feel free to switch ON / OFF any steps on the fly to enhance the realtime experience.
If you feel confident with the opsix operating system, you can also make adjustments in real time for the sequencer length, mode, etc....
Feel free to test anytthing and explore what is the best for you ! These sounds are yours ;-)
